LOKMANGAL CONVET, GHOT

Responding to a call within the call, sisters, Avila, Esther, and Agnes took a challenging initiative to work for the women in distress and social welfare activities.On 21stAugust 1983, they started mission activities at Adegaon one of the remote villages of Gadichiroli district of Maharashtra and formed Mahila Mandals to respondto the social issues.Lok Mangal Convent was opened at Ghot, in Gadichiroli District, on October 27, 1993, for women and children welfare. Further opening a legal cell, they started to help the villagers to settle their dispute and organise people in various levels.

Now this centre undertakes socio-pastoral, education and legal apostolates.Mathoshree Arogya Kendra is a short stay home for women &Ahalyadevi Balsadan accommodates poor village children to help in their school studies with the support of Women and Child Welfare department of Maharashtra. Children in the Balsadan attend regular classes in the Governmentschool.  Centre provides free legal consultancy and counseling and one of the sisters is a practicing lawyer in the court at Gadchiroli. In July 2017, centre opened a pre-primary English medium school (Dilasagram School, Ghot),  to give quality education to the children of this area. As part of the social ministry programmes are held for different groups intending community development and empowerment.
