MISSION ACTIVITIES
The Sisters of the Holy Spirit carries out its mission activities under registered societies such as Shanti Mandal, Dilasagram, Shantidham etc. There are 29 centers in India, 5 centers in Tanzania and network in one centre in USA. Sisters undertake varied activities, responding to the needs of the time as the Mother foundress wished to do.
Province Social work department organizes and takes care of orphanage and home for the street children, Shelter home for women in distress, women empowerment programs, Self Help Groups(SHG), awareness programs for different target groups, leadership training for women and youth, village / community developmental programmes, legal aid and counselling, barefoot lawyers & counsellors’ training, programmes for adolescents groups, food and nutrition programmes, day care and skill training of special children and backward categories, boarding for village drop out children and recruiting them to schools , helping the disable for study and self- employment , village library and youth animation, prison ministry and other welfare programmes.
Province Education Department offers quality formal education for both village and city students with a common motto “Renew the face of the Earth”. Under this ministry there are schools, hostels and boardings helping the children to mould their life in a holistic and efficient manner. Province network with other institutes or dioceses with similar objectives working in their schools.
Province Health Ministry renders nursing care in the hospitals, naturopathy and alternative treatment center, organises home based care for HIV/AIDS & TB patients, food and nutrition programmes for the patients and deserving senior citizens, helping the HIV/ AIDs children for study & professional trainings, arranging health camps,awareness programmes for the on health, sickness and different health issues and requirements with the help of other institutions like CHAI.
Every community participate in the Pastoral activities of the parishes wherever they are as part of this ministry sisters teach catechism, animate youth, organise SCC, working with Jesus Fraternity and other movements and visit families.
Togetherness of members, cooperation of the associates, assistance of the generous well-wishers and benefactors above all the blessings of the Almighty God have been our strength in fulfilling the mission mandate in an effective and successful manner.
