INDIAN MISSION

Sisters of the Holy Spirit reached out to India in 1973. Sisters started to work in the Parish Centre Tera Prem at Warur in Chanda Diocese in Maharashtra on 21st January 1973. Sisters are actively involved in grass root social work, formal education, health care and pastoral assistance. The congregation runs other institutions like orphanage, hostels and boardings, rehabilitation centre for women and children, legal aid intending empowerment and development, home for the aged, day care and learning assistance to differently able children, and networking with diocese and other congregations in their health, education and social ministries.

In India, Sisters of the Holy Spirit work under the dioceses of Chanda, Pune, Mumbai, Sindudhurg, Aurangabad, Raigarh, Jashpur, Samalpur, Thamarassery, Eranakulam, Kanjirappally, Mananthawadi ,  Ramnathapuram,  Vishakhapatnam  and Miao

On 8th September 2008, Sisters of the Holy Spirit began is mission activities in Tanzania, Africa. Gradually centers are opened different places which comes under diocese of Ifakara, Dar es Salaam, Dodoma & Morogoro. In January 2018, The province started to network with St. Rita’s in Racine, USA.
