SHANTIGHAR, BOMBAY
On 1st September 1994, the province started networking with JeevanNirwaha Niketan (JNN) at Andheri East, Mumbai, which was named lateras MKSM (Maharashtra Kalyan Seva Munch) to work for women in distress and in the creativehandicraft section.In 2001, the province started its own mission activities opening ‘Shanti Ghar’, a centre for women in distress on 15thDecember. Shanti Ghar runs a shelter home for women and their children. They undertake activities like counseling and legal aid, organize training program for women and children, and take up SPG programs, and conducts NLP, AA and AL-Alonen programs. A sister lawyer is practising in the family court. They also involve in parish activities and do family visits. Wings of the Holy Spirit (WHS) is the Lay Associates who support in the activities of this centre.
